I am still recovering from the third chemo, exhausted most of the time and sleeping a lot except tonight because my stomach is bothering me. The reactions to chemo are so different for different folks. Rigdon leaves tomorrow on his three week trip to Madagascar, Bill Henderson is here until Monday and I have more wonderful companions to come. We are still eating tomatoes and onions from the garden, and get a few strawberries and are at the very end of the raspberries. Our apple trees are prolific so please come pick a few if you want some unusual kinds. Katie B. made me beets with apples in a puree that was delicious. Bill used apples in the leek dish we had tonight. Growing up, my parents considered trick or treating begging so they had a neighborhood Halloween party in our two car garage that was used only for cars, NO junk like my garage. We bobbed for apples that had coins in them and we tried to get an apple (also filled with coins) that was hung on a string from the pipes. What used to honk me off was that the neighborhood children got to go trick or treating AND they came to the party and received a lot more goodies and prizes than we could get.I have lived here for 15 years and never had a trick or treater come to the door. Maybe I"ll put the lights on this year.
